Web Resources and Job Search Sites for the Music Industry

When most people look for a job they turn to familiar sites like, do a search, and send in some resumes. Sadly, that isn't usually the case in the music industry but that doesn't mean there aren't ways to find opportunities from job search or other websites. If you're looking for a job and don't know where to begin give these sites a try, but keep in mind that networking and talking to existing contacts can be more helpful than plugging information into a form. Either way, good luck!

Entertainment Careers
This site is my first and favorite recommendation because a lot of companies use it. In fact, I found out about it because a management company I interned at often used it to post their listings. You can find jobs and internships for music, film, television and other entertainment companies on here for both large and major companies. Some jobs listed on the site right now include those with The Agency Group, New York Public Radio, The Recording Academy, EMI, TMZ, and NBC Universal.

Hypebot Job List
One of my favorite music industry blogs also offers a job listing. It's fairly small but it's also all recent. Currently the site includes openings in New York, California, and Oregon.

Hollywood Temp Diaries Job List
You may or may not be interested in film of TV too, but it is worth considering that in many respects music and Hollywood are closely tied. In fact, most of the big music booking agencies are also talent agencies for actors. If you are interested in a Hollywood job then this email list is one of the best ways to find out about them.

Strange right? I know it's not a job search site officially but if you make your search terms specific enough than you can find listings from anywhere on the internet. For instance, googling music industry job Chicago brought me to this page listing jobs in radio and music there. Google also helped me find these listings for New Orleans, LA including a College Rep job for Warner Music.

The Company's Website
Still, one of the best ways to find a music job opening on the internet is to go directly to the source. That means making a list of companies you'd like to work for and finding their listings on their websites. Sadly, not all companies offer listings and even some that do prefer to hire from within their network, but it can't hurt to try.
Here's a few to get you started:
Live Nation
The Agency Group
Warner Music Group
